The whole business of search engine optimisation (seo) can be a very tricky one for the best of companies, especially if a company is operating within a competitive industry or one that is extremely specific. In so many cases businesses who were quite blind to the processes of search engine optimisation and what to look out for, suffered the most humiliating and damaging of results by being penalised by search engines such as Google, often being stripped of any rankings and placed in what is referred to as the sandbox.
2.If an seo website doesn't hold first page listings for its services, how likely is it that they will be able to offer you first page listings? Definitely a good point to remember as the whole point of search engine optimisation is to propel your business up the search engine organic results, however with such a large number of seo companies online in the UK and only 10 places on the first page of Google, competition is fierce and you need to aim for a company that can at least be found within the first 5 pages for one of the main seo search terms.
3.Be wary of too good to be true prices. Often when a company says it can optimise your website for a hundred or two hundred pounds, there should be alarm bells going off. Not just because it is nigh on impossible to optimise a site properly for such a low price without having to pay much higher monthly fees for ongoing work and maintenance but also if there is a lack of monthly fees requested or low monthly costs, the chances are that either the seo company is operating at a huge loss or they are not going to provide the service they said they would. On top of this would also be the use of unethical black hat procedures too.
